Hand Forged Authentic Katana
This katana is handmade using Japanese methods to create the perfect sword.
The blade is meticulously hammered into shape in one solid piece with the full tang extending into the handle.
The steel is hardened with heat treatment and oil quenching. A special clay mixture is applied to the blade before quenching.
This clay tempering produces a hard edge for heavy cutting and a more flexible spine for shock absorption. It also results in a beautiful, genuine hamon line.
The blade has been forged with NO HI (blood groove) to enhance its strength and cutting power. The tip of the blade is Chu Kissaki (medium length).
Once the blade is formed, it is hand sharpened and polished to a mirror finish.
